The most populous city in the United States and the most densely inhabited large metropolis in North America is New York City, also known as the City of New York.

The city has sizable immigrant populations from more than 180 nations, which contribute to its status as one of the world’s most multicultural cities. Many Americans from all over the country are drawn to New York City by its culture, vibrancy, and variety as well as by their personal desire to succeed in the “Big Apple.”  New York is the home to many famous artists, singers, models, and exotic dancers aka “strippers”.

Within its 309 square miles (800 km2) of land, New York City, which is in the state of New York, is home to more than 8 million people. It is located in the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the world’s largest urban conurbations with a population of more than 22 million.
